Tert-Amyl peroxypivalate is an initiator (75% active ingredient
in isododecane) for (co)polymerization of ethylene, styrene, vinyl chloride, vinylidine chloride and polyols.
Polymerization of ethylene: Tert-Amyl peroxypivalate is an efficient initiator for the ethylene polymerization under high pressure in both autoclave and tubular processes.
To obtain a wide spectrum of polymerization temperatures, combinations with other peroxides are applied in practice.
Polymerization of vinyl chloride: Tert-Amyl peroxypivalate can be applied as an initiator for the suspension polymerization of vinyl chloride in the temperature range between 50°C and 65°C. Tert-Amyl peroxypivalate may be used in combination with other initiators to increase reactor efficiency
