    Package & Storage

Standard packaging size for EHP is 20 kg net. Smaller packaging size is available on request.

    • Store in a cool and ventilated space, with the warehouse temperature not exceeding -15℃.
    • Stay away from the fire and the heat source. It shall be stored separately from acid, reducing agent, flammable, combustible, reducing agent, etc.
    • The lighting and ventilation facilities in the storage room are explosion-proof, and the switch is located outdoors.
    • When handling, you should be careful to prevent the damage of packaging and containers, prohibit impact and oscillation, and pay attention to personal protection in packing and handling operations.
    • Please read the Safety Technical Manual (MSDS) carefully when storing, transporting and using the product.
    Thermal Stability & Safety Temperatures

Organic peroxides are thermally unstable substances, which may undergo self-accelerating decomposition. The lowest temperature at which self-accelerating decomposition of a substance in the original packaging may occur is the Self Accelerating Decomposition Temperature (SADT). The SADT is determined on the basis of the Heat Accumulation Storage Test.

    SADT: 5°C (41°F)
    Emergency temperature (Tₑ): -5°C (23°F)
    Control temperature (Tc): -15°C (5°F)

Method: The Heat Accumulation Storage Test is a recognized test method for the determination of the SADT of organic peroxides (see Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Manual of Tests and Criteria - United Nations, New York and Geneva).

    Applications

EHP is an efficient initiator for the production of Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE). It is used both for tubular and autoclave processes. In most cases a combination with other peroxides is used to ensure a broad reactivity range. EHP is applied as an initiator for the suspension and mass polymerization of vinyl chloride in the temperature range between 40°C and 65°C.
